Thanks that's really helpful! My symptoms sound exactly like what you experienced. I've been putting this off but hearing your experience makes me feel better about getting it sorted. Do you remember roughly how much the repair set you back? Also, has everything stayed working properly since the fix, or have you noticed any other quirks popping up? Thanks again for sharing your experience!

Hey again! Happy to give you an update! Since I had my Crossland X fixed, everything's been running like a charm. The climate control and mirror defrosting work perfectly, such a relief, especially during these colder months! The defogging sensor issue hasn't come back at all. About the cost, it ended up being 155.00 € for the repair, which covered fixing that faulty cable connection. Not too bad considering how much hassle it was causing! The mechanic did a thorough job with the wiring, and honestly, it was money well spent. Haven't noticed any other weird issues popping up since then. It's been smooth sailing for several months now. If you're experiencing the same problems, I'd definitely recommend getting it checked out sooner rather than later. Better to fix it now than wait for it to potentially cause more problems, you know? Let me know if you need any other info! Always happy to help out a fellow Vauxhall owner.

Thanks so much for all the details! I actually just got back from the mechanic today, and you were spot on! Took your advice and went to a Vauxhall specialist. Turned out my issue was pretty similar, faulty wiring in the climate control unit. Cost me about 170€, a bit more than yours but still reasonable. The mechanic was really thorough and explained everything clearly. The best part? Everything's working perfectly now! The heating's back to normal, and those mirrors are defrosting like they should. Such a relief, especially with winter coming up. Honestly, I'm kicking myself for not getting it sorted sooner. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, it gave me the push I needed to get this fixed. Sometimes it just helps to hear from someone who's been through the same thing, you know? Thanks again for all your help!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2018 Vauxhall Crossland X Hybrid last winter. The symptoms were almost identical, climate control going crazy and mirror defrosting not working. Turned out it was more than just a sensor, there was a faulty cable connection in the main control unit. Took it to my local Vauxhall specialist after seeing these symptoms. They ran a diagnostic test and found that the cable connection between the climate control module and the car's main computer was defective. The wire harness had some corrosion and needed replacement. It wasn't a quick fix, they had to remove several panels to access the wiring, but it wasn't a major mechanical issue. The repair took about 4 hours, and since then, everything's been working perfectly, both the climate control and mirror defrosting. I'd definitely recommend getting it checked soon because these electrical issues can sometimes affect other systems if left unchecked. Hope this helps with your decision!
