Grandland X Climate Control Failure

Climate control panel is dead on my 2021 Grandland X diesel. No lights, no response. Diagnostic shows an error stored. Heating output is too low, and the AC won't switch on. Suspect a defective cable or plug. Fuses are fine. Anyone experienced this?

I had something similar in my Grandland X. Check the electrical connectors behind the climate control panel itself. Sometimes, they come loose or corrode. It's a pain to get to, but worth a shot before taking it in. Did you check the power supply going to the unit? Had a similar issue on my old Vectra and it was just a loose wire.

Thanks for the tip! When you say electrical connectors behind the panel, do you mean the main wiring harness connector, or are there smaller individual connectors I should be looking for specifically? And how did you test the power supply? Just with a multimeter?

Yes, I meant the main wiring harness connector. Give it a wiggle, see if anything changes. It could be corroded contacts. I didn't test the power supply myself, I took it to a workshop to check the wiring harness. It was a bit beyond my skillset. Best to get it checked properly if you're not sure.

Thanks a lot for your help. I followed your advice and checked all the connections I could find behind the climate control panel, but couldn't find any obvious issues. Ended up taking it to the shop, and you were right; they found a slightly corroded connector and a loose wire in the harness. 95€ later, it's all sorted. Appreciate the pointers!
