Grandland X Climate Control Failure
Summary of the thread
The climate control panel on a 2021 Grandland X diesel was unresponsive, with no lights or response, and diagnostics indicated an error. The suspected causes included a defective cable or plug, as fuses were intact. A suggestion was made to check the electrical connectors behind the panel for looseness or corrosion, particularly the main wiring harness connector. Ultimately, a workshop identified a slightly corroded connector and a loose wire in the harness, resolving the issue.

Thanks for the tip! When you say electrical connectors behind the panel, do you mean the main wiring harness connector, or are there smaller individual connectors I should be looking for specifically? And how did you test the power supply? Just with a multimeter?

Yes, I meant the main wiring harness connector. Give it a wiggle, see if anything changes. It could be corroded contacts. I didn't test the power supply myself, I took it to a workshop to check the wiring harness. It was a bit beyond my skillset. Best to get it checked properly if you're not sure.

Thanks a lot for your help. I followed your advice and checked all the connections I could find behind the climate control panel, but couldn't find any obvious issues. Ended up taking it to the shop, and you were right; they found a slightly corroded connector and a loose wire in the harness. 95€ later, it's all sorted. Appreciate the pointers!

I had something similar in my Grandland X. Check the electrical connectors behind the climate control panel itself. Sometimes, they come loose or corrode. It's a pain to get to, but worth a shot before taking it in. Did you check the power supply going to the unit? Had a similar issue on my old Vectra and it was just a loose wire.
