Grandland X emergency call malfunction

Emergency call system malfunction on my 2018 Vauxhall Grandland X, diesel engine. Mileage is 63699 km. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory, with a persistent error message and warning light in the speedometer. Anyone seen this before? I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Any insights?

I had something similar on my Grandland X. Drove me nuts! Was the SOS signal constantly flashing or just intermittent? Any other electrical weirdness, like the infotainment system acting up? Could be a loose connection. Automotive electronics can be so sensitive.

Thanks for the quick reply! The SOS signal and the error message are constant, not intermittent. The infotainment system seems unaffected. What was the specific fix for your issue? Was it a loose connection, and if so, where?

Mine was steady too. After the malfunction persisted, I eventually caved and took it to a workshop. I would suggest you do the same. If your vehicle constantly shows that error your vehicle will be unable to contact emergency services after an accident.

Alright, I appreciate the advice. I'll schedule an appointment with a reputable workshop. Turns out, the diagnostic pointed to a faulty connector in the emergency call module. The repair, including parts and labor, amounted to 95€. Thanks again for sharing your experience.
