Grandland X Fog Sensor Error
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Vauxhall Grandland X hybrid is experiencing a fog sensor error, affecting the air conditioning, spray nozzles, and mirror heating. The suspected cause is a defective cable or plug connection to the sensor. A suggested solution is to check the connections near the rearview mirror, specifically ensuring the plug is properly seated. If this doesn't resolve the issue, professional repair may be necessary.

When you say 'checking the connections', are we talking about getting under the dash, or is it something more accessible? Any specific connections to look out for?

Nah, nothing under the dash. The fog sensor's usually near the rearview mirror, behind that plastic housing. Carefully pry that open – there are videos online that show you how – and you'll see the connector. It’s a small plug, make sure it's seated properly. If that doesn’t fix it, I'd take it to a workshop. I tried everything and eventually had to bite the bullet and get it looked at professionally.

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like a trip to the workshop is on the cards then. The diagnostic says repair will be around 95€. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Grandland X. Symptoms were almost identical – AC refusing to kick in, washer jets solid blocks of ice, and mirror heaters on strike. I'd start by checking all the connections to the fog sensor itself. Give them a wiggle and see if anything changes. Might be worth a shot before anything else.
