Grandland X Heavy Steering Vibration

My 2020 Vauxhall Grandland X with a gasoline engine is acting up. The steering feels heavy, almost like the power steering is cutting out intermittently, and there's a vibration in the steering wheel, especially at lower speeds. The car has 39170 km on the clock. I suspect it's the steering angle sensor; feels like the electronic stability is going haywire. Anyone else experienced this?

Sounds familiar. I've got a Grandland X too. Had similar symptoms a while back – the heavy steering, the weird vibrations. It's like trying to steer a barge sometimes, isn't it? Did you notice any issues with the traction control light coming on?

Yes, the traction control light does flicker occasionally! So, what exactly was the issue with yours? Was it definitely the steering angle sensor?

In my case, yes, it turned out to be the steering angle sensor. Apparently, the coding was faulty. I wouldn't mess with it yourself; I recommend taking it to a workshop. These modern systems are sensitive; one wrong move and the whole thing collapses.

Thanks. Dropped it off at the shop. They confirmed the steering angle sensor was indeed defective, coding error just like you said. New sensor coded, all in cost 195€. Back to normal now, appreciate the help!
