Grandland X Injector Fault

I'm having a nightmare with my 2018 Vauxhall Grandland X diesel. It's got about 62845 km on the clock. Recently, the engine's been running really rough, and the check engine light keeps popping on. I scanned it, and it's throwing up an error about 'reset quantity drift compensation'. Could this be the injection valve/injector causing problems? Has anyone had any experience with this kind of error before? I'm not sure where to even start with this one!

That sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue on my old Renault Megane (also diesel). Rough running and check engine light, the whole shebang. I was getting some weird errors that seemed related to airflow sensors, but it turned out to be a dodgy injector. Have you checked for any obvious leaks around the injectors or any signs of fuel pooling? Maybe check your fuel filter too? Not saying it's definitely the injector, but what else could cause that specific error?

Thanks for the reply! Dodgy injector sounds expensive! When you say leaks around the injectors, what exactly should I be looking for? Is it literally just fuel sitting around the base of the injector? And with the fuel filter, is there a specific way to check it, or am I just looking for it to be generally gunked up? I'm trying to avoid throwing parts at it without a proper diagnosis, but it's hard to know where to start when the error code is so vague.

Yeah, 'dodgy injector' usually translates to 'wallet-lightening experience', unfortunately. When I say leaks, yes, exactly that - fuel pooling around the base, or sometimes you'll see a dark, damp stain if it's a slow leak. As for the fuel filter, if it's excessively dirty or clogged, it can starve the engine of fuel and cause all sorts of running issues. Honestly, given the 'reset quantity drift compensation' error and the rough running, I'd strongly suspect an injector issue. But without proper diagnostic tools, it's hard to be sure. At this point, I’d consider taking it to a garage to avoid making things worse.

Just wanted to say thanks again for the advice. Took it to a local garage as suggested, and you were spot on – it was a faulty injector! They replaced it and reset the compensation values. The total bill came to 515€, but the Grandland X is running smoothly again. Really appreciate you sharing your experience!
