Grandland X Mass Air Flow Sensor Symptoms
Summary of the thread
The conversation centers around a 2022 Vauxhall Grandland X experiencing higher fuel consumption, intermittent engine stalls, a periodic check engine light, and visible smoke during acceleration. These symptoms suggest a potential issue with the mass air flow (MAF) sensor. A similar case confirmed the MAF sensor as the culprit, leading to professional inspection and repair as the recommended solution to prevent further damage.

Yes, I did observe a gradual decline in performance preceding these more acute symptoms. Was the mass air flow sensor indeed the culprit in your case, and if so, what did you do to resolve it?

Yep, it was definitely the MAF sensor! The engine stalling was the worst, almost caused a couple of accidents. Honestly, I didn't mess around with it myself. I took it straight to a workshop. Modern cars are just too complicated! If you're seeing smoke, that's not a good sign – could be unburnt fuel. I'd strongly recommend getting it checked out by a professional before it causes further damage.

I appreciate your advice and sharing your experience. Given the potential severity, I will schedule an appointment with a reputable workshop for a thorough inspection and repair. I understand the replacement of the defective mass air flow meter will amount to approximately 365€. Thank you again.

Hey! I had something very similar happen with my Grandland X. The check engine light was driving me nuts, and the fuel economy tanked! I was convinced it was the air filter at first, but cleaning it didn't do anything. Did you notice any decline in overall performance before all this started?
