Grandland X NOx Catalyst Aging Error

Thanks for the reply! The exhaust leak seems to have started around the same time as the engine light. What was the fix on your Volvo? Anything specific I should be looking for regarding the leak?

In my case, the exhaust leak was the primary issue. The faulty exhaust gasket caused the catalytic converter to malfunction. Because the car couldn't manage air quality, the check engine light turned on due to the NOx sensor detecting abnormal emissions. I recommend you take it to a workshop. If the exhaust system has a leak, the catalytic converter will be damaged in the long run.

Thanks a lot! I appreciate the help. I took it to the shop, and you were right, it was indeed a leak in the exhaust system! Cost me 265€ to fix.

That sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Volvo V60 a few years back. NOx catalyst problems are tricky. Was the exhaust leaking before the check engine light, or did that start happening at the same time? Because the leak could be the main culprit, which will damage the catalytic converter.
