Grandland X Overheating

Hi, I'm having trouble with my 2023 Vauxhall Grandland X hybrid. It's got about 29943 km on the clock, and recently the engine's been overheating. I've checked the coolant levels, which seem fine. I suspect it might be something to do with the electric fan, but I'm not really sure where to start looking. Any ideas?

Overheating in a Grandland X sounds familiar! I had a similar problem a while back. Is the fan running at all? Sometimes it can be something as simple as a faulty connection. Think of it like a light switch that's gone bad - power's there, but the light won't turn on because the connection is dodgy.

Thanks for the reply. That's helpful! I'm not very experienced with car repairs, so I'm not sure where to check for faulty connections to the fan. Could you give me a bit more guidance?

Alright, understanding your experience level is key. Given your limited experience and the car's age, I'd strongly suggest taking it to a reputable workshop. It does sound like a defective cable or plug connection and tinkering without proper knowledge could make things worse. Think of it like this: you wouldn't try to rewire your house without electrical experience, would you? Better safe than sorry, especially with a hybrid system.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I appreciate the analogy, it makes sense! I've taken it to a mechanic, and you were spot on – turns out it was a faulty cable connection to the electric fan. They've sorted it out, and the total repair bill came to 95€ Thanks again!
