Grandland X Overheating Error

I've got a 2020 Vauxhall Grandland X hybrid with 245049 km on the clock. Recently, I've been getting an 'Error stored in error memory' message, and the engine seems to be overheating. I suspect it might be a bypass valve malfunction, possibly a knock-on effect from something else. Has anyone else experienced similar issues?

Grandland X owner here! Overheating and error messages, eh? Sounds familiar. I had something similar, though it wasn't exactly the same. Was your fuel efficiency also affected, or did the engine start stalling?

Thanks for the quick reply! Fuel efficiency does seem a bit down, now that you mention it. Engine stalling hasn't happened yet. Could you elaborate on what your 'similar' issue was? Was it also related to the bypass valve or the exhaust system?

Okay, fuel efficiency dropping too? That seals it. My issue was a dodgy sensor causing the bypass valve to act up. Get it checked at a workshop; it's probably something similar. Saved me a lot of headaches.

Appreciate the advice! Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – faulty sensor causing the bypass valve issue. Apparently, it was a consequential error, so the repair itself was 0€. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
