No, I haven't had any formal AC diagnostics done yet. I was hoping it might be something simple I could fix myself to save on labour costs. What was the eventual cause of the problem with your Skoda?

In my case, it turned out to be a defect in individual valves within the air conditioning system itself. Think of it like a leaky tap inside the engine. Unfortunately, it wasn't something I could fix myself. It required specialist tools and knowledge. I would recommend taking it to a trusted workshop for proper AC diagnostics. In the end, it cost me around 800€ to repair, so prepare for the worst. It sounds like you are heading that way.

Thanks for the advice. I feared as much, but it's good to have an idea of what I might be facing. I will book it in for a diagnosis as soon as possible. Thanks for taking the time.

I understand your frustration. I had a similar problem with my 2017 Skoda Octavia. The air conditioning just stopped working. I initially suspected the pressure switch, AC relay, or even the blower motor, but none of those were the issue. Have you had any AC diagnostics performed?
