Wiring harness... Is that something I can check myself, or am I better off just taking it in?

You could try and see if anythings obvious, like chewed wires or loose plugs, but honestly, if you're not comfortable with car diagnostics, it's probably best to let a pro look. Could be a simple fix, or it could be a software glitch. Best not to make it worse yourself. Probably just a defective cable or plug connection.

Took it in. Turns out it was a defective plug connection. 95€ and all sorted.

I have a GrandlandX too. Had similar stuff happen, though not the coolant leak. Was it throwing up any other weird codes? Almost sounds like a wiring issue somewhere, messing with the data link. Did you check for any obvious damage to the wiring harness near the control module?
