GrandlandX engine stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Vauxhall GrandlandX hybrid is experiencing engine stalling and a persistent check engine light, potentially linked to the fuel tank ventilation system. The issue might be caused by a defective charcoal filter, as suggested by another owner with a similar problem. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle checked and the charcoal filter replaced to prevent further stalling and engine light warnings.

Good call! I'll check for those smells and sounds. When your GrandlandX had this, was it definitely the ventilation system causing the stalling? Any idea how serious it is?

Yep, pretty sure it was the fuel tank ventilation causing the stalling. Turned out to be a defective activated charcoal filter. Honestly, if it's that, it's not drive-it-till-it-dies serious, but you'll keep getting the engine light and the stalling will get annoying. Get it checked soon!

Thanks a bunch! I booked it in to the shop, and they said it's the charcoal filter like you guessed. Repair cost around 275€. Thanks again!

I had a similar issue with my GrandlandX. Is it throwing any codes related to emission control or air flow? It could be the purge valve. I would also check the fuel tank for any hissing sounds, or any strong fuel smells, which could indicate a leak.
