Thanks for sharing that info about your Insignia! This sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with. Do you remember roughly how much they charged you for the whole repair job? Also, has everything been running smoothly since then, or have you noticed any other cooling-related issues? Just want to make sure I'm prepared for what's ahead!

Hey again! Glad I could help! Yeah, I actually just got the repair done last week, all sorted now! The total came to 270€, which covered fixing that pesky radiator shutter wiring harness behind the bumper. Honestly, it was worth every penny because my Insignia's running like a dream now. The overheating issue completely disappeared once they fixed that faulty wiring, and the cooling system's working exactly as it should. The malfunction in the cooling air flap system isn't bothering me anymore, it's such a relief! Haven't had a single cooling-related problem since the repair. My mechanic mentioned it's actually a pretty common issue with these models, so you're definitely not alone. If you're dealing with similar symptoms, I'd say go for it and get it checked out. Better to fix it now than risk more serious problems down the line! Hope this helps give you a better idea of what you might be looking at cost-wise. Let me know if you need any other info!

Thanks so much for all that detailed info! I actually took your advice and went to get it checked out yesterday at my local Vauxhall specialist. You were spot on, it was exactly the same issue with the wiring harness! They quoted me 290€, which seems pretty fair considering your experience. The mechanic was really thorough and showed me exactly what was wrong. Had to leave my car there overnight, but they just called to say it's all fixed now. Can't wait to pick it up and see how it runs! It's such a relief knowing it wasn't something more serious. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, it definitely helped me make the right decision instead of putting it off and risking more damage. Fingers crossed it'll run as smoothly as your Insignia now! Thanks again for all your help!

I own a 2016 Vauxhall Insignia Hybrid and faced a similar issue last summer. The radiator shutter wiring harness behind the front bumper was worn out, causing the cooling flaps to malfunction. Had it fixed at my local Vauxhall certified garage. They needed to remove the front bumper to access and replace the damaged wiring harness and actuator. It wasn't a quick fix, took them about 4-5 hours to complete the job. It's definitely worth getting it checked out soon as continuous overheating can lead to more serious engine damage. From my experience, it's best to have it handled by Vauxhall specialists who are familiar with hybrid cooling systems. The local certified dealer should be able to diagnose it properly with their diagnostic tools.
