I did a quick visual, but I'm no mechanic! Is it easy to get to the sensor and check the plug myself, or will I cause more problems? I saw some diagrams online, but everything under the hood looks complicated!

If you're not comfortable with car electrics, don't poke around too much. A faulty sensor can mess with your vehicle emissions. Given the error code, increased fuel consumption, and the car's mileage, a garage visit is a good idea. They can diagnose if it's a dodgy connection or a bad sensor.

Took it to the workshop. It was the cable or plug connection on the sensor, like you thought. Cost 95€ to fix. Thanks for the help!

O2 sensor heater failure on a 2020 GrandlandX diesel, eh? Not unheard of. First, check the wiring and connector to the sensor. It could be a loose connection or corroded pin. Have you looked at the exhaust system recently? Any signs of damage to the wiring near the sensor?
