Grinding and squeaking noises when shifting gears in Peugeot Boxer year 2022 - possible fault with transmission oil pressure cooler?Hey guys, I have a problem with my Peugeot Boxer, year 2022, diesel and 107766 km run. When shifting gears, there are a lot of really stupid noises, as if the gearbox is grinding and squeaking. From time to time it even slips when changing gear and everything feels totally unsettled. Could it perhaps be due to a fault with the transmission oil pressure cooler? Have you ever had similar symptoms and how did it go with your mechanic? My last visit was really no fun... Looking forward to your experiences and tips. Thanks a lot!

Hey, you're welcome! So, it cost me €170 to repair the cable connection to the valve. That was quite a lot of money, but since then my Peugeot has been humming like a kitten again. And best of all, the problem with the transmission oil pressure cooler was also fixed after I went to the mechanic. Since then, my wallet has been happy and my gearbox no longer squeaks, but purrs like a well-fed house cat. So, get in and off to the workshop before the machine gives up the ghost completely!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2019 Peugeot Partner, where the "valve cable connection was defective". I also had a really nasty squeaking and crunching noise when shifting gears, just like you. It almost broke my heart to hear it. So yes, it could well be that the transmission oil pressure cooler has a fault. I went straight to the garage. They looked at the whole thing and said that there was something wrong with the cable connections to the valve. After they fixed it, everything ran smoothly again like a freshly waxed skateboard. Sure, it was no mean feat, but it was manageable and saved my car. And according to the mechanic, it could have been worse if I had continued to ignore it. So, don't procrastinate and go for a swim before the pool is empty.
