Groove Audio System Silence
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Chevrolet Groove's audio system was completely silent, with no sound from any source. The issue was initially suspected to be a bad bass speaker, but it was unlikely to cause total silence. Suggestions included checking the audio system fuses and the amplifier. Ultimately, the problem was diagnosed as a failed amplifier, which required replacement to restore the audio system's functionality.

A blown fuse? Interesting. If the head unit is functional – powers on and responds – could a defective bass speaker still cause complete audio failure, or should I look elsewhere?

If the head unit powers on, at least part of the system is working, but a dead bass speaker wouldn’t likely cause complete silence. Since it's totally silent, and assuming the fuses are good, I'd suggest a qualified technician. It could be the main amplifier or a complex wiring issue best diagnosed with professional equipment.

I appreciate you. The local shop confirmed it; the amplifier failed and needed replacement. The repair, including parts and labor, was 280€. Thanks for helping me diagnose it!

A silent sound system is frustrating. Check the audio system fuses. A blown fuse can cut power. Also, consider the amplifier; no amplification means no sound. Does the head unit power on, with an illuminated screen that responds to commands?
