Groove exhaust flap issue
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Chevrolet Groove is experiencing issues with the exhaust flaps, leading to louder exhaust noise and a noisy engine after a cold start. The problem is likely due to a defective exhaust flap, as confirmed by error codes and similar experiences from others. The suggested solution is to replace the faulty flap actuator, which should resolve the noise issues.

Yes, exactly! It's a constant drone, especially noticeable at lower RPMs. Did you also notice it more after the car had been sitting overnight? Was the repair expensive?

Yes, the noise was definitely worse after the car had been sitting. It sounds like you are experiencing the same issue as me. Honestly, I would take your car to a workshop. After replacing the faulty actuator the problem was gone.

Thanks! I appreciate the advice. I've taken it to a mechanic, and they've confirmed it's a defective exhaust flap. Repair cost will be around 190€. At least it will be fixed soon!

I had a similar issue with my 2018 Opel Astra. Same symptoms: louder exhaust, error codes. In my case, the flap actuator was the culprit. Is the sound like a constant drone, especially at lower RPMs?
