GS Hybrid Rough Engine Misfires
Summary of the thread
A 2010 GS hybrid is experiencing rough engine performance, a check engine light, and jerking during acceleration, likely due to combustion misfires. The initial suspicion is a faulty fuel injector, which is confirmed by a workshop diagnosis. After replacing the defective injector, the car's performance improves, resolving the issue.

Thanks! Can you tell me more about how they found the bad fuel injectors on your GS? Were your symptoms exactly like mine, and did you get any specific error codes?

The symptoms were very similar. Rough running, especially at idle, and the check engine light was on. My mechanic hooked it up to the diagnostic computer, and it showed misfires on specific cylinders. From there, he narrowed it down to the injectors. I'd suggest taking it to a reputable workshop for a proper diagnosis.

Thanks for the advice! A workshop confirmed it was a defective fuel injector. The repair was 515€, and now the car is running smoothly again.

I had similar symptoms on my GS. Rough idle, check engine light... turned out to be the fuel injectors. Have you checked the ignition coils as well? Those can cause misfires too. It's worth looking at the fuel pump too, though that's less likely.
