GT86 AC problem

My 2016 Toyota GT86 with a gasoline engine has a serious AC problem. It doesn't blow cold air anymore, and the AC system won't even switch on. It's completely dead. I suspect it has something to do with AC efficiency, or a defect in the valves. Has anyone experienced this?

I had a similar issue with my GT86 - the AC just quit. Did you check the AC relay and blower motor? Those are usually the first things to check before diving into more complex AC diagnostics.

Pinpointing the failing part could be tricky without specialized equipment. While checking the relay is easy, the problem might be related to valves within the cooling system. I would suggest bringing it to a trusted workshop for accurate AC diagnostics. Doing it yourself might cost you even more time, and it ended up costing me around 1000€.

Thanks so much for the insight! I'll take your advice and bring it in. I suspected it might be beyond my capabilities. Hopefully, it won't cost that much, but at least I have an idea of the potential repair cost now!
