GT86 check engine light and power loss

My 2017 Toyota GT86 with a gasoline engine has an intermittent check engine light at 107287 km, reduced power, and smoke on acceleration. I suspect the crankcase ventilation valve. Anyone seen this?

I had very similar symptoms in my GT86. Check engine light, loss of power, and even a bit of smoke. Was your idle also rough or erratic?

The idle does fluctuate slightly, yes. What was the cause and fix in your case?

My PCV was defective, causing improper ventilation and those symptoms. Given your similar issues, especially the idle fluctuation and smoke, a faulty PCV is highly probable. Get a professional inspection to confirm.
