GT86 Cranks But Wont Start

Urgent help needed! My 2019 Toyota GT86, gasoline engine, is completely dead. It cranks but won't start. I suspected a fuel injection problem, but the engine light didn't come on until after trying to start it a few times. I've checked all the usual suspects, like fuses, but nothing seems obviously wrong. Any ideas before I'm forced to call a tow truck?

Oh man, that sounds frustrating! I had something similar happen with my GT86 a while back. Did you check the battery cable connections? Specifically, are they clean and tight? A faulty connection can cause all sorts of weird issues, even if the battery seems to have enough juice to crank the engine.

Battery cables, huh? I gave them a quick look but didn't really focus on them. What sort of issues did you have exactly? I'm grasping at straws here.

Yeah, I had the exact same symptoms as you. Engine wouldn't start, but it was turning over. It threw me for a loop because the battery seemed fine. Turns out, there was some corrosion on the positive terminal that I missed at first glance. Cleaned it up, tightened everything down, and it fired right up. If that's not it, I'd probably take it to a workshop; might be something seriously wrong with the engine software.

You legend! Turns out you were absolutely right. The positive terminal connection was a mess. Cleaned it up and retightened, and she started right away. Cost me 155€ to have it sorted but still huge thanks!
