GT86 cruise control failure
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Toyota GT86 owner is experiencing cruise control failure, accompanied by a speedometer error and stored error codes. The suspected causes include issues with a cable or plug, and a suggestion was made to check the throttle body actuator for bad connections. Given the lack of specific error messages and the complexity of the issue, it is advised to consult a professional technician for diagnosis and repair.

Thanks. I haven't checked the throttle body actuator yet. When it happened to you, did the error message specifically mention the throttle body, or was it a more generic system error? Did you fix it yourself, or did you take it to a shop?

The error wasn't super specific, just a general system fault. Honestly, I tried a few basic things but ended up taking it to a workshop. They sorted it out pretty quickly. Might be worth getting it checked out professionally if you're not comfortable diving too deep.

I appreciate the advice. Based on your experience, it seems best to see a qualified technician. I will book an appointment with a workshop to diagnose it. Repair cost is about 95€.

Hey, I've got a GT86 too, and something similar happened to me a while back. The cruise control just quit, and I got some kind of warning light on the dash. Did you check the throttle body actuator? Sometimes a bad connection there can throw things off. Did the error code point to anything specific?
