Yes, I've felt a slight performance decline. How did you resolve the issue?

Given the combination of symptoms and the performance reduction you describe, it does indeed sound like a defective mass air flow sensor. I would suggest you bring your GT86 to a trusted workshop for a diagnostic check. In my case the mass air flow meter was defective. The repair cost me 365€. This is probably caused by a defective mass air flow sensor.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was the mass air flow sensor. Replaced it, and everything is back to normal.

Greetings. I also own a GT86 and experienced comparable symptoms: increased fuel consumption, an unstable idle, as well as the engine warning light illuminated. Have you observed any decline in overall performance? It is quite possible that the mass air flow sensor is at fault, which directly influences the air-fuel ratio.
