GT86 Ignition Problems
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Toyota GT86 owner experienced ignition problems, including failure to start, random engine shutdowns, and rough running. The dashboard lights appeared normal, suggesting an electrical issue. A suggestion was made to check the fuses, particularly the ignition fuse, which was identified as the problem. Replacing the defective fuse resolved the issue, at least temporarily.

Thanks for the tip! I'll check the fuses. Cold weather doesn't seem to make a difference, it's pretty random. You mentioned a specific fuse? Or should I just check them all?

Yeah, I'd start by checking them all. The ignition fuse was the problem for me. Honestly, though, even after replacing it, the problem came back after a while. Eventually, I took it to a workshop, and they sorted it out properly. Might be worth getting it checked if the fuse keeps blowing.

It was a defective fuse! Replaced it for 52€ and so far so good. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Whoa, that sounds like what happened to my GT86! Does it happen more when it's cold? I had a similar issue where it would randomly stall. Check your fuses, especially the one for the ignition. I know it sounds simple, but it could be the culprit. Is the starter motor cranking properly when it won't start?
