GT86 Multifunction Steering Wheel Failure

Hey, I've got a 2015 Toyota GT86, gasoline engine. The multifunction steering wheel is dead – no response at all. The error's stored in the memory. Suspect a cable problem in the wheel itself. Anyone else seen this?

I had a similar issue with my GT86. Steering wheel controls just stopped working out of the blue. Did you check the fuses? Also, have you had any other electrical problems lately? Sometimes a voltage issue can cause weird things like this.

Cheers for the fast reply! Fuses are okay, and no other electrical gremlins I'm aware of. When you say 'similar', was it exactly the same symptoms?

Yep, exact same thing. No response from any of the buttons on the steering wheel. I ended up taking it to a workshop – turned out to be a faulty connection in the steering wheel wiring. They replaced the cable and it sorted the problem out. Probably best to get it checked out properly.

Thanks, that's really helpful. I booked it in, and it was indeed a defective cable connection like you suggested. Cost me 95€ to repair. Appreciate the heads-up!
