GT86 Oil Pressure Warning Light
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Toyota GT86 with 191,603 km had a warning light issue, specifically the oil pressure light. Despite normal oil levels, the light indicated potential engine damage or a faulty sensor. The problem was traced to overdue oil changes, leading to oil contamination and low pressure. The solution involved changing the oil and filter, which resolved the issue.

About 15000 km ago. I know that's pushing it. Could going so far over cause the oil to get gunked up and trigger these warnings? What should I do next?

Yeah, going that far over could definitely cause the oil to degrade and get contaminated, which could trigger the oil pressure warning. I wouldn't drive it anymore. Get it to a shop, change the oil and filter, and have them check the oil pressure properly.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a shop, and you were right, it was the overdue service. The oil was super contaminated, causing low pressure. An oil and filter change fixed it, cost 165€ . Appreciate the help!

Hard to say without a proper look. But the oil pressure light being on could mean there's something up with the oil itself. When did you last change it?
