GT86 Outside Temperature Sensor Issue

I'm experiencing a frustrating issue with my 2015 Toyota GT86 (gasoline engine). The outside temperature sensor seems to be malfunctioning. The error memory stores a fault, the air conditioning system refuses to engage, the spray nozzles freeze prematurely in cold weather, and the mirror heating is non-functional. Given the symptoms, I suspect a defective cable or plug connection to the sensor. Has anyone else encountered similar problems with their GT86?

Sounds familiar! I had almost the exact same symptoms on my GT86. Did you check the sensor itself for any physical damage? Where is it located on the GT86?

Thanks for the quick reply! I visually inspected the sensor, but couldn't identify any obvious damage. I haven't had a chance to probe the wiring with a multimeter yet. Where exactly is the sensor located on your GT86? Knowing that might give me a better starting point for tracing the wiring harness.

I had the exact same thoughts. Couldn't find anything. I'm not sure where the sensor is located, but I just went to the workshop and the mechanic found it. You should do the same and save time.

Thanks for confirming! That settles it; I'll bring it to my trusted mechanic. For anyone else encountering these symptoms, the eventual repair cost was 95€, caused by corroded wire.
