GT86 Power Loss Fault Code
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Toyota GT86 owner experienced a reduction in engine power and a fault code. Another GT86 owner suggested checking for aftermarket chip tuning, as it caused similar issues for them by sending incorrect signals to the ECU. Upon inspection at a workshop, the chip tuning was confirmed as the cause, and its removal resolved the problem.

Interesting. Yeah, the previous owner did mention something about a third-party chip tuning. Could that really be causing the issue? What exactly went wrong with yours?

In my case, the chip tuning was causing incorrect signals to the ECU, leading to the fault code and power loss. I'd recommend getting it checked by a workshop to confirm, but it sounds very similar.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on – the chip tuning was the culprit. They removed it and reset everything. Cost me 180€, but the car's running fine now. Appreciate the help!

I have a GT86 too, though not the same year. I had similar symptoms a while back – reduced power and a dashboard light on. Did you check if you have any aftermarket chip tuning installed? That was my problem.
