GT86 Rear Window Heating Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Toyota GT86 owner experienced issues with the rear window heating and suspected a heavily discharged or defective battery as the cause. Another GT86 owner suggested checking the battery voltage, as a weak battery can lead to electrical problems. After checking and visiting a workshop, it was confirmed that the battery was the issue, and replacing it resolved the problem.

Thanks, I'll check the voltage. If the voltage is fine, what else could it be?

If the voltage is fine, there may be another issue. In my case the battery was the problem. Maybe you should visit a workshop, so that they can test the battery.

Thanks for the hint. Eventually, the car was at the workshop. It was indeed the battery. The repair cost 290€. At least it works again.

I have a GT86 too. I had a similar issue. Did you check the battery voltage? A weak battery can cause all sorts of electrical problems. The rear window and windshield heaters draw a lot of power.
