GT86 transmission issues and error lights

My 2018 Toyota GT86 with a gasoline engine is showing some concerning symptoms. The transmission indicator and check engine lights are both on. The automatic transmission seems to be in emergency mode, shifting erratically, slipping gears, and making grinding noises. Mileage is 37932 km. Error is stored in the error memory. Could a defective radiator oil pressure be the cause? I suspect a faulty cable or plug connection.

I also drive a GT86 and those are indeed worrisome symptoms. Sounds similar to an issue I experienced with the oil cooler and pressure sensor. Have you checked for any signs of a coolant leak around the radiator or oil cooler lines?

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't noticed any visible coolant leaks, but I'll definitely check again more thoroughly. Was your GT86 exhibiting the same transmission issues? What was the eventual cause in your case?

Yes, the transmission was acting up in a similar manner – rough shifting and emergency mode. In my case, the problem indeed was a defective pressure sensor connection. I suggest visiting your workshop.

Thanks for confirming. I appreciate the advice. I'll take it to the local repair shop. It turned out to be exactly what you said – a faulty cable connection to the pressure sensor. Repair cost was 95€.
