GT86 Wiper Failure

My 2012 Toyota GT86 with a gasoline engine has 193099 km. The windshield wipers are completely non-functional, and an error related to the wiper system is stored in the error memory. I think it's a defective cable or plug connection. I've checked the accessible wiring but can't find the fault. Has anyone had this issue or have troubleshooting advice?

I had something similar happen in my GT86. The wipers quit out of nowhere! Did you check the connection at the steering column? That's where my problem was. Have you messed with the turn signal recently? They might be connected.

When you mention the connection at the steering column, are you referring to the multi-function switch that controls the wipers and turn signals? What was the defect, and how did you resolve it? More details would be great.

Yep, the multi-function switch! I didn't fix it myself; I took it to a workshop. They said it was a bad connection. I'd suggest you go to a workshop too. You might need to replace the whole thing.
