GX Airbag Warning Lamp

My 2023 Lexus GX hybrid has started showing an airbag warning lamp in the speedometer. Current mileage is 139784 km. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Anyone else experienced this?

That's a concerning issue! When the airbag light illuminates, it means the system has detected a fault and may not deploy in an accident. Has the vehicle been in any minor collisions or had any recent work done that might have disturbed the airbag system components or wiring? Could be a faulty crash sensor too. It's worth checking if there's an active airbag recall for your vehicle's VIN.

No accidents, and no recent work that I'm aware of. Where exactly are the crash sensors located on the GX? I'll check those connections.

The crash sensors are typically located behind the front bumper and in the doors, but it's best to consult the vehicle's service manual for the exact location. If you're not comfortable working with the airbag system, I'd strongly recommend taking it to a qualified workshop to diagnose and repair. Given the criticality of the restraint system, it's not worth risking an incorrect repair.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to the workshop; as suspected, it was a loose plug connection. Repair cost was 95€. Problem solved.
