GX Incomplete System Readiness Check
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Lexus GX owner experienced an incomplete system readiness check after running an OBD2 diagnostic and clearing all codes, leading to an error message on the speedometer. This issue is likely related to the vehicle's exhaust system needing to complete its checks for emissions compliance. A suggested solution is to perform a computer reset and run onboard diagnostics, which resolved the issue without incurring any cost.

Yeah, I cleared all the codes. So, you're saying your GX had the same 'incomplete system readiness' issue specifically after clearing codes? Did it eventually clear itself up, or did you have to do something?

Exactly! Incomplete readiness right after clearing codes. I was sweating bullets thinking something was seriously wrong. Honestly, after messing around for a bit trying to figure it out myself I panicked and ended up taking it to a shop. I really don't know what else to tell you - I really should have done the repair myself.

Thanks for the info. I took it in for a vehicle inspection, and they basically just did a computer reset, ran some onboard diagnostics, and then it was good to go. Cost me nothing. Appreciate the help!

Oh, that sounds familiar! I have a GX too, though I'm not sure of the year, and I had something similar happen after I cleared some codes. The system readiness thing is tied to the exhaust system, right? Like, it needs to run all its checks to make sure everything is A-OK for emissions. Did you clear all the codes when you ran the diagnostic? Maybe that reset something it shouldn't have.
