GX Oil Temperature Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Lexus GX hybrid exhibited a speedometer warning light and oil pressure warning lamp, with diagnostics indicating a potential issue with the engine oil temperature sensor. The problem was traced to a defective cable or plug connection related to the sensor. The suggested solution was to inspect and repair the faulty connection, which resolved the issue, cleared the error code, and turned off the warning lights.

Yes, the error code explicitly indicates a fault with the oil temperature sensor. Could you elaborate on which connections you inspected on your GX?

Ah, if the code points directly to the sensor, it aligns perfectly with my experience. I'd recommend having a workshop take a look. In my case, the issue was indeed a faulty connection, leading to erratic readings. Replacing a cable sounds way easier than doing an engine overhaul, right?

Thanks for the insights. It appears a faulty connection was indeed the culprit. The workshop confirmed the diagnosis, and the cable was repaired for 95€. The warning lights are now off, and the error code is cleared.

I had something similar happen with my GX. Same symptoms: warning light, error code, and oil pressure lamp. Have you checked the sensor connections? Like a loose wire on a lamp - sometimes it flickers, sometimes it stays off entirely. Was the error code pointing to the oil temperature sensor specifically?
