H1 Defrost Issue

My 2021 Hyundai H1 diesel's defrost isn't working properly. Error keeps popping up, and the heating output is too low after 118625 km. I suspect a faulty air distribution flap, because the ventilation system seems off, but the blower motor is fine. I checked the cables and plugs and think there's a defective connection somewhere. Windshield fogging is a safety issue. Anyone else had this problem?

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Hyundai H1 diesel is experiencing defrost issues, with an error message and low heating output after 118,625 km. The suspected cause is a faulty air distribution flap, possibly due to a defective connection, as the blower motor is functioning correctly. A suggested solution is to check the flap motor's power using a multimeter, and if unresolved, seek professional assistance. The issue was confirmed to be a faulty air distribution flap, resolved at a workshop for 95€.

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had almost the exact same thing happen with my old Peugeot 308. The air distribution went completely haywire. I was freezing in winter. Did you check if the flap motor is getting any power? That was my problem. The plug was loose.

Hmm, a loose plug on the flap motor? Interesting! How did you diagnose that? I've been fiddling around, but I'm not sure how to properly test if the motor is getting power. Is there a specific tool or method you'd recommend? I want to avoid replacing the whole ventilation system if it's just a simple connection issue!

I just used a multimeter to check the voltage at the plug when the system was trying to adjust the flaps. Honestly, after messing with it for an afternoon, I just gave up and took it to my local workshop. They sorted it quickly. Cost me about 95€ in the end. Could be worth saving yourself the headache and letting a pro have a look!

Okay, multimeter it is, and then probably the workshop. Thanks a million for the advice! A defective cable or plug connection was indeed the culprit, and the workshop confirmed the air distribution flap was faulty. The price was exactly what you said, 95€!
