H1 fuel consumption and power loss
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Hyundai H1 diesel engine is experiencing increased fuel consumption, power loss, and a recurring check engine light. A local shop identified cylinder pressure fluctuation but couldn't determine the exact cause, suggesting it might be a consequential error. Potential causes mentioned include issues with spark plugs, crankshaft, piston rings, timing belt, or intake manifold. The problem was eventually resolved at a workshop, with repairs covered under warranty.

Yeah, the shop pulled some codes, but they weren't super specific. Do you remember what the error code was in your case? Was it also related to cylinder pressure?

I don't remember the code exactly, but yeah, it was a cylinder pressure thing. Honestly, just take it to a proper workshop. It's a pain, but saves you guessing.

I took it to a workshop as you suggested, and they sorted it out. Turns out, it was indeed a consequential error, but the repairs were covered under warranty. I appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my H1. Same symptoms – higher fuel consumption and reduced power. Have you checked your error codes?
