H1 handsfree microphone failure
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Hyundai H1 is experiencing hands-free microphone issues, rendering telephony functions inoperative and storing an error in the system. Possible causes include audio system failure, incorrect audio input settings, wireless interference, or ambient noise affecting speech recognition. Suggested solutions involve checking audio settings, assessing for interference or noise, and potentially consulting a workshop to diagnose and repair the infotainment system, which may cost around 815€.

Thanks for the ideas! I'm pretty clueless with this stuff. Where exactly would I find those audio input settings? And how would I check for ambient noise issues?

Honestly, it sounds suspiciously like the infotainment system itself is defective. I eventually took mine to a workshop, and they confirmed it. If it is that, expect to spend around 815€ for the repair.

Thanks, that's the confirmation I needed. I'll book it in to a workshop, and brace myself for the bill. I appreciate the help!

I had a similar problem with my H1. Have you checked the audio input settings? Maybe the wireless connection is causing some interference? Ambient noise can really mess with the speech recognition too. Is there any noticeable buzzing or static?
