H1 Transmission Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Hyundai H1 diesel is experiencing transmission issues, including an engine warning light, emergency mode activation, slippage, unclean shifts, and grinding noises. Diagnostics indicate a potential low gearbox oil level as a cause. A similar case suggested checking the transmission oil temperature sensor and oil level, which led to resolving the issue with a sensor replacement and fluid top-up.

Could you elaborate on your experience? Did you see similar error codes or mechanical symptoms, and were there any diagnostic steps that helped find the cause?

Yes, same symptoms. I suggest you get it checked by a workshop.

The transmission oil temperature sensor was the problem, made worse by a slightly low oil level. The total repair was 365€, for the sensor replacement and fluid top-up. Your insights helped speed up the diagnosis.

I had similar transmission issues with my H1. Check the sensor and oil level first.
