Hazard light problems while driving a Toyota Prius
(Translated from Norwegian)
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Toyota Prius is experiencing an issue where the hazard lights blink while driving but stop when the car is in park. The hazard button functions correctly when the car is stationary. A diagnostic check showed no errors. A possible cause could be a sticking or loose hazard light switch, potentially due to debris or wear. It is suggested to inspect the switch and surrounding area for damage or dirt, and if the problem continues, to have a professional examine the wiring.

Check if the hazard light switch is sticking or has a loose connection. Sometimes debris or wear can cause it to malfunction when the car is in motion. Inspect the switch and surrounding area for any signs of damage or dirt. If the issue persists, it might be worth having a professional inspect the wiring. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!
It works as intended, no dirt there. And it turns on and off as intended when the car is in park. But as soon as I start driving the hazard lights blink until I stop the car, and at low speed they blink very fast, but at higher speed they blink normally, like when you turn them on.

Check the vehicle's speed sensors, as they might be sending incorrect signals that affect the hazard lights. A malfunctioning speed sensor can cause erratic behavior in the electrical system. Inspect the sensors for any visible damage or loose connections. If you're unsure, it might be best to have a professional take a look. Let me know if this helps or if you have more questions!
