Headlight Range Control Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Mini One is experiencing a headlight range control fault, with a warning light on and low beams shining too low. The suspected cause is a defective servomotor within the headlight unit, which affects beam adjustment. It is recommended to check the headlight switch and beam adjustment settings first, but ultimately, a workshop confirmed the servomotor as the issue, which is a common problem.

The light's always on, yeah. Where exactly is the servomotor located? Is it part of the adaptive headlights or the general lighting system?

The servomotor is inside the headlight unit itself, part of the overall lighting system, affecting the beam adjustment. Though your car doesn't have adaptive headlights, the range control uses the same parts. If it is the servomotor, you're best off having a workshop look at it.

Thanks. The workshop confirmed it's the servomotor. Apparently a common issue. Cost me 1040€ to get it sorted. Appreciate the insight.

Sounds like a headlight range control fault. I had similar with my old Volvo. Is the warning light constantly on? It was indeed the servomotor. Check the headlight switch and beam adjustment settings first though.
