Headlight washer system in Toyota Auris 2007 not working: cause signal error in rear window wiper water pump?

Hi folks, I have a problem with my 2007 Toyota Auris petrol engine, which has already clocked up 63511km. The lights from the headlight cleaning system just won't come on. I suspect that it could be due to a signal error in the rear window wiper water pump. Have any of you ever experienced this or have any experience with this? Was the repair carried out by your mechanic without any problems? Thank you and best regards!

Summary of the thread

A 2007 Toyota Auris has a non-functional headlight washer system, suspected to be caused by a signal error in the rear window wiper water pump. A similar issue in a 2010 Toyota Yaris was resolved by repairing the cable connection and replacing the relay, which restored the system's functionality. The suggested solution is to have a mechanic inspect and repair the cable connection and relay, which previously resolved the issue without further problems.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hi friend, I had a similar problem with my 2010 Toyota Yaris. In my car, the cause was a fault in the cable connection of the pump or relay, just as you suspect. This is indeed a serious fault as it can severely affect the pump function. To fix it, the mechanic had to check and repair the cable connection and replace the relay. It was no great effort and the car ran perfectly again afterwards. I hope this helps you. Good luck with it! Best regards!

Hello, thank you very much for your valuable tips and experience! Your description exactly matches the symptoms that my Auris has. Did the repair cost you a large amount of money, can you remember? And have you had similar problems since then or is everything still running smoothly? Many thanks in advance and best regards!

Hello, you're welcome, that's what we're here for! Ah, the cost... that saved me 165€. My mechanic had to repair the cable connection of the pump or relay. It still hurts when I think about it! But since then I have good news: the problem with the signal error wiper water pump rear window was solved and I haven't had any more similar problems. My Yaris has been running like clockwork ever since. I hope this helps you and your Auris will soon be back in top form. Keep us up to date! Best regards!

Hi, that's really helpful, thank you! 165€ sounds expensive, but if it solves the problem and there are no further problems, then it's worth it. I'll take your advice and ask my mechanic to have a look at the cable connection and the relay. I hope my Auris will then be fine again. I'll keep you up to date! See you then and best regards!
