Heating and fan problems in the Seat Arona Diesel (2018)

Dear community, I have a problem with my Seat Arona Diesel (2018, 30,420 KM run). The heating/air conditioning is not really efficient and the fan doesn't work properly either. I have a hunch that it's due to a malfunction of the electric auxiliary heater. Have any of you ever had a similar problem? How did it go with the mechanic? Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience last time. I'm looking forward to your experiences and advice. Thanks in advance!

Summary of the thread

A Seat Arona Diesel (2018) is experiencing inefficient heating and fan issues, suspected to be due to a malfunctioning electric auxiliary heater. A similar issue was resolved in a Seat Ibiza by replacing the faulty heater, which required significant repair work. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle checked by a professional mechanic to confirm the diagnosis and perform necessary repairs.

Hi mate, I had a similar problem with my Seat Ibiza (2015, approx. 75,000 KM). The heater wasn't working properly and the fan was also a bit stubborn. The mechanic finally determined that the electric auxiliary heater had given up the ghost. It was actually quite a serious problem. The repair was no piece of cake, with a fair bit of fiddling around and a few hours needed for the mechanic to get the job done. You could say it was like they were performing heart surgery on my car. So take care, buddy. It could be that your Seat has this problem too. Hopefully it's something simpler, but it's definitely worth getting it checked by a professional. Don't make the same mistake I did and wait too long. Better safe than sorry!

Hey, thanks for your quick reply. It sounds really serious and I'll take your tip to have it checked by a professional. I just hope it doesn't hurt too much financially... Do you remember what you left with the mechanic back then? And are there any recent doubts about the repair or has everything remained fit? I would be delighted to hear your feedback!

Hey, no problem, I'm happy to help! As far as the costs are concerned, I paid around €350 to fix the electric auxiliary heater. Yes, that was quite a lot of money, but afterwards everything ran like clockwork again. Since I had it done by my mechanic, the auxiliary heater has been trouble-free. No more problems, so no need to worry. Your money would have been well invested if you have the same problem. In hindsight, I can only say it was worth every penny. So don't worry, the guys will sort it out!

Great, your information really helps me. 350 is a lot, but if everything runs perfectly again afterwards, then it's worth it. Thank you, you've reassured me and given me the impetus I needed. I'll go straight to the garage tomorrow and won't put it off any longer. Hopefully the mechanic will do his work as thoroughly as you did! Thanks again and have a nice evening!
