I've checked the wiring and connections as best I can, but I can't find the exact problem. What fixed it for you? Did you replace the whole switch, or just repair the wiring?

Man, after chasing ghosts for a week I took mine to a workshop. They said it was the clutch switch and a bad connection. Save yourself the grief and have it checked out. Labor plus parts cost me about 95€.

Thanks, that confirms what I suspected. I'll take it to a shop for a proper diagnosis and repair. I appreciate the help; it saved me a lot of time. It was a bad clutch pedal switch, just like we thought!

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had almost the same problems with my HHR. Ignition was a nightmare, the gear selector acted possessed, and cruise control was just a distant memory. It was like a domino effect of weirdness. Did you check the safety switch?
