Hiace Blower Motor Failure

The error doesn't specify the fan speed controller, but it's good to know that's a possible culprit. Where exactly is the fan speed controller located, and is it easy to check for damage? I just want to be sure before I start browsing for new parts.

The fan speed controller is usually located near the blower motor, often behind the glove compartment. But since you mentioned an error code, and I didn't get one, it sounds like it might be more than just a faulty resistor pack. Honestly, with a stored error and a complete blower failure, I'd advise taking it to a workshop. They have the tools to properly diagnose electrical issues. My problem was just the fan speed controller, a relatively cheap fix. But with the error code, yours could be more complex.

Based on your experience and the error code situation, I've decided to take it to the workshop. They've confirmed it's indeed a defective blower motor, and the total repair cost will be around 365€. Hopefully, this will resolve the issue. I appreciate you sharing your past experience, I feel more confident in this situation now!

I had a similar problem with my Hiace a while back. The cabin fan just quit. Before you start tearing things apart, have you checked the fan speed controller? That was the culprit in my case. Although, my error memory was clean. Does yours specify anything more than just a generic error?
