Hiace engine overheating bypass valve error
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Toyota Hiace with a gasoline engine experienced overheating and a bypass valve error. The issue was suspected to be a consequential error from another underlying problem. After consulting a workshop, it was confirmed that the bypass valve error was not the primary issue, and the real problem was resolved without any cost.

Thanks for the quick response! I haven't noticed any major engine stalling or power loss yet, just the overheating and the error code. What specifically should I be looking for with the air intake? Any particular components to check?

Okay, no stalling is good news. If you are getting overheating symptoms and the error code points to a bypass valve, and if you suspect it's a consequence of another problem, you probably should let experts have a look at it. It could be anything from a faulty sensor to something more complex, you will risk doing more damage.

Thanks for the advice, you were right. I took it to the workshop and they told me that the bypass valve was not the main problem. It was showing up because of something else entirely. They sorted the real issue, and it didn't cost me anything to fix! Cheers!

Hey there! Overheating and bypass valve errors sound nasty. Is the engine stalling or losing power at all? Could be an issue with the air intake system affecting the valve. I'd check that first. Keep us posted!
