Hiace Overheating Coolant Leak
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Toyota Hiace is experiencing severe overheating and a coolant leak, with the check engine light activated. The issue is suspected to be related to high pressure in the cooling system, potentially caused by a faulty control module. The problem was resolved by identifying and fixing a defective connector on the control unit, which was confirmed by a garage.

Connectivity issue? Can you explain more? Where should I start looking?

Yes, a defective cable or plug connection. Check those first. If you're not comfortable, I'd recommend a workshop. Better safe than sorry.

It was indeed a faulty connector on the control unit! The garage charged me 95€ to fix it. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Hiace. Was it a connectivity issue with the control module?
