Hiace turn signal fault
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Toyota Hiace diesel is experiencing a turn signal fault, with an error stored in the memory and a message on the speedometer. The problem may be due to a defective cable or plug connection. It is suggested to check the flasher relay and voltage at the bulb socket, with a significant drop in voltage potentially indicating wiring issues. The issue was confirmed to be a defective cable, which was repaired at a workshop.

You mentioned checking voltage at the socket. Is there a specific voltage range I should be looking for? Or a specific pin I should be testing?

Indeed. With my Astra, the voltage should have been around 12V. Considering its age, your Hiace may be different. However, if the voltage is significantly lower, let's say below 10V, it may indicate a wiring issue or corrosion. Given the stored error and your technical evaluation, it is still advisable to entrust it to a workshop.

Thank you for the advice. As suggested, I took it to a workshop. The issue was indeed a defective cable, as I initially suspected. Repair cost came to 95€. Much appreciated!

Interesting. I had a similar indicator light problem with my 2012 Opel Astra, albeit a different make and model. Did you check the flasher relay? Even with the error code, a malfunctioning relay can cause the system to throw errors. Have you also checked the voltage reaching the bulb socket?
