High voltage system error

Hi, I'm having a weird issue with my 2019 Citroen C5 Hybrid. It's done 122782 km. I keep getting a 'High-voltage system error' message. Sometimes the engine just shuts off, and other times I notice reduced engine power. I checked the error memory, and the error is stored there, but I am not an expert and couldn't determine where it comes from. Any ideas what could be causing this? Could it be that the battery is heavily discharged or even defective?

I encountered a similar problem with my 2016 Volvo V60. 'High-voltage system malfunction' was the error message. Was there any noticeable battery drain before the errors started appearing?

Thanks for the input! Battery drain... hmm, not that I've noticed, but it's hard to say for sure. How did you end up resolving the problem with your Volvo? Was it an inverter issue?

The issue was indeed a defective high-voltage battery, which was heavily discharged. Considering your vehicle's symptoms, especially the error message and engine issues, professional diagnosis is highly advised. It might be necessary to take it to a workshop.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I took it to a workshop, and it turned out to be a defective battery, as suspected. Repair cost 290€, not too bad. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
