Highlander AC Not Working
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Toyota Highlander Hybrid's AC system stopped functioning, failing to cool or switch on. The initial suspicion was a valve issue, but further suggestions included checking the pressure switch, AC relay, and potential refrigerant leaks. The AC relay is typically located in the engine compartment fuse box, and a common failure point for the pressure switch is a bad O-ring. If these checks don't resolve the issue, professional diagnostics for leaks and valve integrity are recommended.

Thanks, good starting points. Where exactly is the AC relay located? Also, is there a common failure point with the pressure switch on these?

The AC relay is usually in the engine compartment fuse box, check your manual for the exact location. As for the pressure switch, a bad O-ring is pretty common. If you don't find anything obvious, it might be worth having a shop evacuate the system and check for leaks and valve integrity.

Okay, I'll check the relay location and O-ring. If those are fine, I will have a shop take a look. Estimated repair cost is around 1000€. Thanks for the help!

I had a similar problem with my Highlander. Check the pressure switch and AC relay first. It could also be a refrigerant leak. Have you checked those?
